Roccapina and the Gulf of Valinco excursion
Along the way, you'll discover the Sartenais and the Gulf of Valinco, via the winding Col St Georges road (Corsican water) and the atypical villages of Petreto Bicchisano and Olmeto. Beautiful landscapes with ancient stone houses. Then a well-deserved break in the seaside town of Propriano. Enjoy a short stroll along the quays of the port, with its many establishments, restaurants and bars, or take a gourmet break at "A Panattaria" to sample the sweet and savoury delights of the bakery/patisserie! Then it's on to Sartène, a village in bloom, for a 15-minute stop in the old town with its cobbled streets, pottery, the beautiful church of Sainte Marie and the history of the Catenacciu (Easter procession).
Excursion to Roccapina and the Cauria plateau
Next up is the Neolithic site of Cauria! Head for Tizzano to discover the superb megalithic plateau of Cauria. A must-see prehistoric site in Corsica! An instructive and pleasant walk across a pretty grassy plateau. A signposted looped route, about 1 hour's walk, reveals alignments of menhirs, menhir statues and a very well-preserved dolmen.
Getaway to Roccapina Lion Bay
Finally, we head for the lion bay of Roccapina. A sublime, timeless paradise! A beautiful cove of white sand and turquoise water, surrounded by rocks and lush green scrubland. Swimming, snorkeling and stand-up paddling (without instructor), or hiking (without guide) are all possible!
